Dr. Carlos M. Boileve
Dr. Carlos Boileve is a licensed Chiropractic Physician serving Highwood and surrounding communities. He is a certified Medical Compliance Specialist.
Dr. Carlos has been freeing people from pain in the clinic in Highwood, and Lake County. As a Chiropractic Physician with experience, Dr. Carlos is committed to promoting optimal health and well being of patients.
Dr. Carlos uses a “whole person approach”. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Carlos is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.
Dr. Carlos was born in Bolivia, South America whose heritage includes Scottish (McCalmont [Buchanan Clan]) and Bolivian, and is very proud of this. In the picture above, you will note the Tartan tie the he is wearing, representing the Buchanan Clan which he wears with great pride in remembrance of his Grandmother, lovingly called Mamita Pata.
After completing his schooling in Chicago, he entered the National College of Chiropractic (NCC) now the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in 1976, graduating in 1980, and licensed in Illinois as a Chiropractic Physician, as well as being the first Hispanic in Illinois to do so. While going through NCC, he worked in the Emergency Room at St. Joseph Hospital, Chicago, IL, where he obtained further education in the treatment of injured persons. Since, he has dedicated his professional career in treating those injured.
He was an active Board member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society (ICS) for over 10 years with his last position of 1st Vice President. He had also represent the chiropractic profession in Medicare as a Carrier Advisory Committee (CAC) member in the State of Illinois. He did receive the Illinois Chiropractic Society’s “Presidential Award” 2 years in a row, 2007 and 2008, for his involvement with the ICS, as well as for providing Education to the Profession, which he is extremely proud of.
Dr. Carlos was a participant in 3 crash studies, totaling 49 live crashes from 1999-2002 through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, C.R.A.S.H., and Texas A.M. University in cooperation of the United States Naval Station. This allowed him to further understand the dynamics of injury to the vehicle occupant involved in a motor vehicle crash.He was on the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Center for Research into Automotive Safety and Health (C.R.A.SH.). In addition, he served as Secretary of the College on Forensic Sciences.
Currently, he continues to teach and mentor those in the healthcare field on Workers’ Compensation and Personal injury matters, including Documentation. Dr Carlos did maintain a position at the National College of Naprapathic Medicine since 2007 as an instructor in Orthopedics, Histology, Anatomy, Embryology, Physiology, and Symptomology and Lab Interpretation, through 2019, as well as, being the Chairman of the Board.
In addition, Dr. Carlos maintains a position on the Medical Advisory Board of the Work Comp Research Institute (WCRI) that monitors 18 states, which includes Illinois, since 2007.
